Goals and Process *
Goals:
- Assist students in the use of technology as a tool to research, organize,
evaluate and communicate information for academic and real world applications - Provide opportunities for students to demonstrate an understanding of the
ethical and legal issues related to access and use of information - Help students understand the influence media has on our beliefs and behaviors
(point of view, fact and opinion) - Provide students with the necessary resources to make informed decisions
- Facilitate students global awareness to understand other nations and cultures and address global issues
- Promote a life long love for reading
Process:

Work actively with classroom teachers to develop
inquiry based lessons where students will access information efficiently and effectively,
evaluate information critically and competently, and use information accurately
and creatively for their current information problem

Use the Big 6 problem solving process as
the framework for applying ICT skills. The Big 6 also included all three of
Robert Sternberg's Successful
Intelligence , analysis, creativity and practicality.

Integrate Standards
for the 21st-Century Learner developed by AASL American Association of
School Librarians, NETS National Education Technology Standards, with Idaho
Content Standards.

Use the curriculum maps developed by the Partnership for the 21st Century,
to infuse 21st century skills into the core subject area curriculum.
